December 2008

what a wonderful month it has been so far!!! it started out with a bang....we went to see zoo lights with the nees kids, which was awesome and really go us in the mood. then we got our tree, so sorry...we did not cut it down, but at least it is REAL!!! jim did a great job putting lights up on the house and i started baking away making tons of christmas cookies. max has really enjoyed helping me back, he is quite the little chef.

then the snow....for the past five days it has been snowing like crazy. beautiful and makes the holidays that much more special. the older i get, the more i really realize what christmas is all about. it is so much more fun now that max is older and starting to really get into the spirit. i have loved seeing the excitement on his face when we talk about santa, loved watching the polar express a million times, love hearing him sing christmas songs and drive around looking for lights. what a magical time.

i am so lame...

okay, i am so lame....it has literally been almost a year since my last post. i do not even know where to begin to update everyone....i guess i will just give you a quick recap of the year.

january....i finished up my last month of part time work and was so excited to be done.

february...spent the month being a stay at home mommy and spending time with max, my 1 1/2 year old. we did lots of classes and spent lots of time resting, as i was 8 months pregnant.

march.... well...makena decided to arrive three weeks early....she was born on march 3, 2008 and weighed in at a small 6 pounds, 3 ounces. when she was two weeks old, she got really sick and stopped breathing a bunch of times....she was in the hospital for a few days, we were scared parents, but she made a full recovery. thank goodness....other than that scare...she has been a perfect baby.

april, may, june.....these months are sort of a blur...as i was just trying to survive with a brand new baby and a 1 1/2 year old. max had some hard time adjusting and makena was a terrible sleeper, but other than that....life was great.

july.....celebrated max's 2 birthday with a bbq and a new swingset (thanks jimmy, papa and unlce rob)....had my 32nd birthday and our 4th anniversary. we even got out to dinner just jim and i....it was great.

august...took a wonderful trip to black butte with the entire wolcott family...even lindsey flew out for the event...also found out that lindsey is pregnant...cannot wait to have a new nephew.

september, october, november- the fall was here, so that meant lots of weekends being a single parents as jim went crazy again and could only think about the ducks. he is a huge fan. we had a wonderful thanksgiving with my parents and celebrated jims 33nd birthday with a fun dinner out, just the two of us.

The End of 2007 and the Home Stretch....

Well, 2007 flew by in a flash, as I am sure it did for all of you. There were many wonderful highlights and Max grew like a weed and changed so much. He learned to crawl, then walk, then run. He learned to talk (just words, not sentences yet) and has not stopped. He also grew into a strong willed and stubborn little boy (wonder who he gets that from). But all and all, he has remained our sweet little man with a huge smile and the best cuddling around. Jim and I both feel that being a parent is more wonderful than we could have ever imagined.

2008 should be a wonderful year. In March we will be blessed with a new little girl. Makena Karlin (after her two aunts Karley and Lindsey). Jim is really enjoying his job and will be busy working hard this year and continues to awesome. My job status is also going to change from working part time, to being a full time mommy to Max and our newest little addition (I cannot wait!!). And life will continue to be crazy and fullfilling. I count my blessing each day and wonder how I have become so blessed. I have the most wonderful family and friends....life does not get any better than this.
